Choose a base before counting attractions
For three days and two nights, a single base reduces packing and transfers. Choose town for food and trips in different directions, or Koh Phayam if beach time is the priority. Covering town, an island and the southern coast in one short visit leaves little room to enjoy them.
Day 1: settle into town
After check-in, explore Ruangrat Road and choose a cultural stop that is open. Leave room for a rest or one hot-spring visit. Check opening hours before setting out, and avoid a long out-of-town excursion straight after a flight or overnight bus.
Day 2: give one area a full day
Choose an island day only after confirming a return boat, or spend the day on a mainland route such as Ngao, Grass Hill and Phon Rang. Arrange hosted community activities in advance. Keep a margin around boat departures rather than filling every hour.
Day 3: stay close before departure
Enjoy breakfast and a nearby stop, then work backwards from your airport or bus departure. A saved website plan helps order places; it is not live travel-time prediction or a guarantee of making a boat connection.
